Latest happenings from The Exchange

Join us at The Orcas Grange on 5/22 or 5/23 and learn how to compost at home and keep food scraps, garden, and yard materials out of the waste stream. Tickets are $75 each and include:

• (1) 82 gallon FreeGarden® EARTH compost bin with a locking lid, harvesting door, rodent-proof bottom screen, and anchoring pins ($150.00+ value) and one instructional class on:
  • Fri, May 22nd (5–6:30pm) or
  • Sat, May 23rd (2–3:30 pm)

Bring all your household hazardous waste to The Exchange for another FREE collection event on Saturday, June 20th from 10am to 2pm! Exchange staff and volunteers will be there to help unload your vehicle.

NO paints, stains, liquid fuels (gas, kerosene, etc.) will be accepted it at this event.

The next free tours of ORS/The Exchange facilities and operations will be held on:

• Monday, May 18 at 11:30am
• Friday, June 5 at 9:30am
• Monday, June 22 at 11:30am

Way to Go!

Since we began last month’s plastic beer tops collection initiative, we have collected and delivered 119 reusable beer carriers to Island Hoppin’ Brewery. Thanks to everyone for participating and allowing us to reuse another material within our own community. Look for the collection bin on the z-wall for these 4- and 6-pack plastic snap-on can tops.
