— from the Office of Rep. Rick Larsen —
Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) issued the following statement on Joe Biden’s decision to choose Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate.
“I am proud to endorse the Biden-Harris ticket. Joe Biden’s proven track record of fighting for working families and bringing people together to get the job done, alongside Sen. Kamala Harris’ commitment to standing up for equal rights and opportunity for all Americans is what our country needs. Together, Biden and Harris will build a better future for all and address the ongoing economic and public health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Harris is an excellent pick for vice president. As the first Black woman selected as a running mate on a major party’s presidential ticket, this decision is a historic moment for the Democratic party and our country. We must elect leaders who represent the broad diversity of our communities, and who are committed to combating racial injustice.
“Biden and Harris have my full support. So much is at stake this election year. The fight to expand access to quality health care, address the devastating effects of climate change and protect the right to vote all depend on defeating Donald Trump this fall.
“We must come together to send Biden and Harris to the White House.”

Right on Rick, good luck to us all!
We now have a very clear-cut choice for November:
Diversity versus white-male supremacy.
If you put the parents of truant kids who don’t go to school because there are too many cops and too many shooting per Kamala Harris can you really stand up for ‘racial inclusion?”
As Rick Larson pursues military pork for African Americans he can take the time to stand the language of racial inclusion on its head. Way to think outside the box, Rick.
Trump derangement Syndrome is a condition that belongs in the DSM, not Orcas Issues.
In a tweet shortly after Mr. Biden announced his choice of a (BLACK) running mate, our President warned us that if they are elected, they will “reinstall” and “expand” a Federal “program where low income housing could invade” suburban neighborhoods (which are mostly white). And they will probably put U.S. Senator Corey Booker (who is BLACK) in charge of that program!
The ‘suburban housewife’ will be voting for Trump, he told us, because “They want safety”.
Oh, my goodness! We have low income housing right here in Eastsound!! Sounds like he’s warning that it has become unsafe for us! And he seems to be warning us that more BLACK PEOPLE could be invading us. What are we going to do????
Should I ask my black step-son to stay in Seattle??
Don’t you long for the days when it wasn’t easy being green, Kermit?
Neither extreme is actually survivable in its current form. I’m looking harder for a way to at least register my authentic concern against the Trump/Biden duopoly.
