— from Dennis King for Lahari —

Every year, as a service to the Island’s caregivers, both professional caregivers and family caregivers, Lahari offers a series of events and classes to further the their skills and meet continuing education requirements.

The first continuing education class this year is Understanding the Layers of Skin.

This course is designed for caregivers wanting more information on skin. Topics will include a review of skin and its function, care and nutrition for healthy skin, causes and prevention of skin problems, identifying potential skin problems, and reporting.

The four credit hour class will be taught by Lahari board member Sally Coffin, RN, on Thursday, March 22, 2018 1 pm – 5 p.m., at the Eastsound Fire Station Meeting Room. To register for the class, or see the complete 2018 calendar of events, please visit www.LahariOnOrcas.org/home/caregiver_training.

Although the courses are designed for caregiver continuing education, they are free and open to the public. Family caregivers are encouraged to attend.
