The Actors Theater of Orcas Island announces open auditions for the play “Arthur, The Begetting” by Seattle playwright Jeff Berryman. “Arthur, The Begetting” is the first in a series of plays chronicling the legend of King Arthur. In this play, we follow Arthur’s mother, Igraine, from her late teens until the birth of Arthur.

This production will have five performances over the first two weekends in September at the Grange. Rehearsals will begin in mid May and rehearse slowly over the summer with a traditional rehearsal schedule beginning in August. Rehearsal times and days will be adjusted to meet the schedules of the actors involved in the production.

“Arthur, The Begetting” has the following roles:
Igraine: female, late 20’s
Emrys: Male, late 20’s
Teyrnon: Male, late 30’s
Uther: Male, early 40’s
Gaius: Male, 50 or older.
The ages are somewhat flexible.

A copy of the script is available at the counter at the Library. Auditions will be held at the Grange on Sunday, May 9th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Tuesday, May 11th from 7 to 9 pm.
