The Orcas Public Library will be celebrating Young People’s Poetry Week in April with poetry displays and a kids’ public poetry reading. They want young poets of all ages to participate. Guidelines are:
Kids ages 7-18 may submit one poem, limited to two pages in length, to Nita Couchman, Children’s Librarian at the public library, by Wed. April 1st.
Library staff will prepare the poems for display in the library and they will be displayed during the month of April.
Children may sign up to read their poems at the kids’ public library reading on Friday, April 17 at the public library. The reading begins at 7 pm.
