Friday, January 30, 7 p.m., Rosario Music Room
— from Pete Moe, Orcas Recycling Services —
We are thrilled to announce JP and the OK Rhythm Boys are going to play a fundraising event for The Exchange, January 30, in the Music Room at Rosario! A great chance to hear some great music and donate to a great cause.
JP and the OK Rhythm Boys features fine fiddling, swinging guitar, slapping bass, and soaring three-part vocal harmonies. And, if JP’s ripping fiddling, Anita’s sparkling guitar and Gordon’s thumping bass and velvet singing aren’t enough for you, just wait, and “the boys” may hop onto mandolin, ukulele, banjo, or musical saw for a tune or two.
The evening promises to be a grand one, with plenty of swing tunes, waltzes, hoedowns, jazz standards and originals, toe-tappers and tear-inducers. The group is finishing up a new studio album right now, and the evening will include some of these new tunes, as well as plenty of old favorites.
To see JP and the “Boys” in the gorgeous music room at Rosario is a musical opportunity not to be missed.
A suggested donation of $15 gets you in (but it is, after all, a fundraiser, so more is welcome)! And why not make an evening of it – enjoy dinner in the Mansion Restaurant or Moran Lounge before the show. For dinner reservations, contact Rosario at 376-2222.
