— from Alex Tamayo-Wolf —

Learn to harvest and use the health-beneficial plants growing in your own backyard ecosystem. This class will take you on a fascinating nature walk before returning to the classroom for hands-on instruction.

Join Herbalist Natasha Clarke as she guides you on a fascinating nature walk to identify medicinal plants in our local ecosystem. Along the way you’ll learn about sustainable land stewardship and wildcrafting, focusing on our abundant and overlooked wild rose species: Nootka and Rosa Canina. You will learn all about the rose and her medicinal uses as we harvest and focus on the abundance of the hips, which you will then turn into a fortifying, delicious syrup packed with vitamin C that will keep you rosy through the winter. You will learn how to identify, respectfully harvest and enjoy celebrating community as we honour the medicine of the land.
