||| FROM LAURA HANKS for FRIENDS OF ORCAS LIBRARY |||

he Friends of the Orcas Island Library (FOIL) invites community members of all ages to the annual Library Fair Summer Book Sale. This event takes place on Saturday, August 12th, from 10 am to 3 pm in the Orcas Library parking lot at 500 Rose St.

The day will be filled with fun activities, including story time with our favorite Children’s Librarian, Jenny, live local music, a silent auction where you can bid on unique items, and an exciting rubber ducky race! The race proceeds will support the Ken Gibbs Memorial Endowment, an important fund that supports science-related library purchases.

Get ready to explore our expansive book sale. We will have paperbacks for just $1, hardcovers for $2, beginner readers for $0.50, and DVDs for $1. For the collectors among you, we’ll have a selection of specialty books priced at $5. All proceeds from the sale will directly benefit our wonderful library.

We’re thrilled to announce a raffle for a $500 portable generator. Tickets for the raffle are available now at the library and will also be sold at the book sale on August 12th.

In addition to the exciting activities planned, Orcas Library merchandise will be up for grabs. This includes stickers, hats, coffee mugs, and totes – perfect for showing off your library pride.

Join us at the Library Fair Summer Book Sale, grab a bargain, enjoy the entertainment, participate in the raffle and silent auction, and support your local library. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
