The Orcas Senior Center is once again offering tax preparation services to low and moderate income tax payers.

Because of an operational change with AARP there is a charge of $4 for the service this year. The money goes to cover the costs of the program and anything above the cost of materials will be donated to the Orcas Senior Center.

This service is being provided by Jim Biddick who has participated in the AARP/TCE and the IRS/VITA for over 25 years. Jim has completed all the IRS Link and Learn requirements for the 2009 Tax year. As with the AARP program that has been active in the past, the tax payer is responsible for all information and Jim’s job is to compile the data  and produce the return.

The service is offered on Tuesdays from Feb. 2 to April 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 376-2677 and walk-ins will be taken as time permits.

If there is anyone that would like to help with this program please contact Jim through the Senior Center, 376-2677.
