Second concert of series Friday July 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Orcas Center

— from Jesse Boleyn —

American songwriter, recording artist and author, Jesse Boleyn is proud to host the 2017 Orcas Island Performing Arts Center summer concert series in beautiful Eastsound.

On Friday, July 21, 2017 at 7:30 pm. Boleyn invites to the stage renowned  German born composer and guitarist, Grammy nominee and friend, Ralf Illenberger (ralfillenberger.com) for an exciting evening of masterful guitarmanship.

The legendary composer is the recipient of multi-international awards and nominations and Ralf’s mesmerizing open guitar tunings have been imitated around the world, but nobody quite plays like the master himself. Ralf Illenberger’s performance promises to be a ‘don’t miss’ memorable concert for all ages!

Boleyn is donating a large percentage of the proceeds to Kaleidoscope Childcare Center to assist the under-privileged kids in need with the help of Jim Connell. He says, “It is my intention to continue contributing to the most in need in our community.”

Boleyn adds, “I fell in love with Orcas Center three summers ago when I first came to the island, and been fortunate enough to have found a place to live from May thru November. Throughout my performing career around the world, a venue like yours has always been my favorite, about 200 seats. It allows for a very intimate connection between myself and an audience. And I like that the best.

“The idea of contributing in some way occurred to me early on, although I wasn’t sure what direction it would appear to take. Good things take time. Then the idea to share truly wonderful performers with the community appeared. So, here we are! I am looking forward to this year to bringing some friends to the island who are truly world class songwriters and performers suitable for all ages.

“Most of all, I am going to have a lot of fun by also involving members of the artistic community. I have a few surprises up my sleeve.”

Ticket prices are $28 per show and may be purchased online at orcascenter.org or at the Orcas Center box office.
