||| FROM DAVID KOSIUR for ORCAS ISLAND LIBRARY |||
Starting March 1st, some of Jan McCorison’s quilts will be exhibited at the Orcas Island Library. Jan’s quilts use a number of techniques — appliqué, traditional piecing, and foundation piecing for example. She takes her inspiration for her work from a variety of sources, including Asian fabrics, Tlingit carvings, and Mexican art.
As Jan has said: “I was in my element during the pandemic, when all I could do was design and make lap throws and baby blankets using fabric I had on hand. I see another 100 quilts in my future!” Come to the library and see a sampling of what she’s done so far.

So proud of my “baby” sister. She has so much more talent than I do! See you soon, Jan.
