The Orcas Center Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Perrine as the new Executive Director of Orcas Center. Perrine succeeds Dimitri Stankevich, whose leadership over the past six years guided the organization through a transformative period of artistic growth and community engagement.
A familiar face to the Orcas Island community, Jake Perrine has been deeply involved in the local arts scene as Orcas Center’s Artistic and Technical Director. He brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to supporting local artists and creating accessible, inclusive programming.
“Jake Perrine has long been a force at Orcas Center,” said Richard Track, President of the Orcas Center Board of Trustees. “We are thrilled to welcome him into this leadership role to carry our mission forward. We are confident that under his direction, Orcas Center will continue to flourish as a vibrant cultural hub for our island.”
The transition comes at a time of continued energy and momentum for the organization, with a robust lineup of performances, classes, and visual arts events planned for the coming months. To see the full schedule of offerings, visit: www.OrcasCenter.org.

There could not be a better person for this position. We (Marc and I) are very sorry to see Dimitri go, but are elated with the board’s choice. Congrats to Jake!!
Yes! Such wonderful news for the Orcas Center and our entire community! Thank you for stepping up Jake! You are absolutely the right choice with the perfect combination of significant professional experience, drive and total passion for the arts and our community.
And… thank you Dimitri for all you did for the Center and now do for us at Orcas Fire & Rescue!
Gaining Jake in this new role while “losing” Dimitri to OIFR is absolutely as good as it gets!
I echo what Kevin said above!
Great news for both the OC and OIFR.
Congratulations to Jake and Dimitri…and all of us!
Hard act to follow, but the best choice to do it. Thank you Dimitri and congratulations, Jake!
Sad to see Dimitri depart, but can’t think of a better choice than Jake. I’ve had the past pleasure of working with both of them as a volunteer in years past, and remain very impressed with Jake’s technical and creative skills as artistic director. His path to this new position was, in a sense, inevitable. Kudos also to Richard Track and the Board for making this difficult choice, from amongst dozens of other qualified applicants.
