Jacqueline Kempfer with one of her Sumi paintings that will be featured at the Orcas Artworks in July

The Orcas Island Artworks features Sumi ink paintings by Jacqueline Kempfer through the month of July.

Her black and white paintings of Orcas Island scenes are made with a traditional Asian ink made from soot, water and glue. The compressed Sumi ink stick is ground with water on a suzuri stone and applied with water to the surface of the paper.

The Artworks is open daily from 10 to 6.
