Island kids watch in fascination as young scientists explain their projects at the 2010 Science Fair

The Funhouse invites any and all to “Join us! at the 10th Annual Science Fair on Saturday, March 26 from noon to 4 p.m. at  The Funhouse in Eastsound.

Family, friends, and all community members are invited to the afternoon’s festivities, so pass the word. If you haven’t participated in or attended The Funhouse’s Science Fair before, try something new this year. It is SUPER FUN!

Stronger than ever, the Science Fair brings out young scientists from all island schools and all grades to explain their displays, experiments, hypotheses and theories to the public.

The Funhouse is awarding $2,000 in scholarships to the top three high school student entries in the amounts of $1,000, $650 and $350, respectively. In addition the Richie Moore “Rocket Ship of Wonder Award” goes to the student entry judged “Best of Show.”

In past years, the winners of the Rocket Ship of Wonder Award have gone to:

2005  Jake Zier

All four top-prize winners will also be given two free tickets to the Doktor Kaboom!  performance at The Orcas Center Stage.  His show starts at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Doktor Kaboom will make an appearance at the Funhouse Science Fair Awards Ceremony.
