Thor Hansen of San Juan Island is among the the authors who won the 2016 Pacific Northwest Booksellers Awards for his book The Triumph of Seeds: How Grains, Nuts, Kernels, Pulses, and Pips Conquered the Plant Kingdom and Shaped Human History.
Seeds is published by Basic Books.
Original essays from each of the winners will be featured on the NWBookLovers blog over the next several weeks, beginning Tuesday, January 12.
A volunteer committee of independent booksellers chose these six books from more than 250 nominated titles published in 2015. A Shortlist of 12 finalists was announced in November.
