— from Jacob Linnes for Island Market —
Island Market has approved a $5,000 disbursement of our donor advised fund to the Orcas Community Resource Center to help them support their efforts in combating Covid19. These funds will be to give them more capacity to support our most at-risk community members.
The Donor advised fund is the net proceeds of the money we collect for each grocery bag and is held at the Orcas Island Community Foundation. The donor advised fund is designed to support critical needs within the community and the Orcas Community Resource Center supports very critical needs every day and especially during this Covid19 crisis.
Orcas Community Resource Center is a hub that connects Orcas Islanders in-need with resources that can help: housing, healthcare, family support and more. They ensure that islanders have access to health insurance, mental and physical health services, energy assistance, food for their families, help when facing eviction, household essentials, veteran’s benefits, kindergarten readiness, and more.
We are grateful for the opportunity to donate this money on behalf of all our customers.
