The hospital is investing over $4M in its workforce, which will include:
- Retention bonuses up to $2,500 per employee, based on full-time equivalent
- Shift incentive bonuses
- Market wage adjustments
- Doubled employee referral bonuses
- Cafeteria discounts
- Access to unlimited educational credits through improved clinical educational materials
The “Thankful For You” campaign announcement coincided with Veterans Day, where Island Hospital recognized nearly 50 staff Veterans and celebrated with the help of community partners, including the Anacortes High School band, Dr. Justin Irish, and Mayor Laurie Gere.
“We are so grateful for the sacrifice and contributions our entire staff have made for the last 18 months and beyond. The senior leadership team, along with the Board of Commissioners, was so thrilled to move forward with this plan for our staff,” said Elise Cutter, Chief Operating Officer.
Island Hospital’s Human Resources team has planned additional staff celebrations throughout the month of November, with new announcements and events occurring each week.
