ANACORTES, WA— Island Health’s remodeled Main Hospital Entrance lobby off 24th Street will reopen Monday, December 18. This is the first completed phase of the multifaceted Emergency Services Project, which will relocate the helipad to the roof of the hospital and update the Emergency Department (ED) with new flooring and security measures.

The remodeled Main Entrance lobby will house six registration desks and a greeter station. Patients seeking to check in for laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, or surgical services will use the Main Entrance during regular business hours, Monday―Friday 6:00 a.m.―6 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m.―1 p.m. This entrance is closed on Sunday. The ED entrance will only be used for emergency patients and after-hours access to the hospital via an employee-badged access point.

All after-hours appointments and visitors will register in the ED.

The former central registration area will be remodeled as a waiting area. All registration will take place in the Main Hospital Entrance lobby effective Monday, December 18, 2023.

Patients accessing the 25th Street Building for physical therapy, wound care, cancer care or urology should use the parking lot to the north, off Commercial Avenue and 25th Street, and enter at the lower level. Elevators are available for those who need assistance accessing the second floor.
