Are you an Orcas Island or San Juan County resident who seeks care at Island Primary Care – Orcas and purchases insurance through the State Exchange?
San Juan County/Orcas Island Patients can go ahead and enroll in Ambetter; a contract with Island Health and Island Primary Care-Orcas will be in place by January.
Patients may need to choose IPC-Orcas as their provider in January (it will take Ambetter a while to get all of our providers in their system).

I appreciate the effort Island Health and the Orcas Health District invested to make this happen quickly. This will at least provide local service remains for many. The Health Care system in this country is in dire need of resuscitation and reimagining. Maybe we are finally at a breaking point so we can rebuild a system that actually recognizes access to care is a basic human right.
