[UPDATE] At 10 p.m. on Friday, July 15,

WSF announced that necessary vessel repairs were made to the Klahowya and it would return to service with the 11 p.m. sailing from Anacortes to Lopez, Orcas and Friday Harbor.

[Friday, July 15 at 2 p.m.] WSF has discovered a problem with an emergency shutdown device on the M/V Klahowya’s engine, and all inter-island sailings have been cancelled until further notice. Crews have been dispatched to repair the vessel, but inter-island travel will be extremely limited for the remainder of the service day. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Note: Inter-island service is reflected by the light blue background on the printed schedule.

To help accommodate travel between islands, WSF has coordinated several additional sailings with other vessels on this route:

  • Elwha: Eastbound from Friday Harbor – There will be an additional 2:40 pm sailing from Orcas Island and an additional 2:40 pm sailing from Shaw Island that will stop at Lopez Island and Anacortes.
  • Yakima: Westbound from Anacortes – There will be an additional 6:10 pm sailing from Shaw Island and 6:30 pm from Orcas Island arriving in Friday Harbor at 7:10 pm.

Reservation holders are unaffected and will be able to sail on their reserved sailings, though some boats may be late due to these additional stops on added sailings. Updates will be provided as more details become available.
