Theodore Francis (Ted) Driggers, 85, of Orcas Island, WA, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Ted was born on December 2, 1936 in San Francisco, CA, to Carl E. Driggers and Irene A. Driggers. He was the youngest of their three children.
Ted attended the U.S. Naval Academy for the first part of his higher education studies. After his years of naval service, he went to UC Berkeley and received his PhD in Operations Research. He spent his career in the telecommunications field.
After he retired, he moved to Orcas Island, WA. He became an active participant in the Creation Science field. He was a longtime member of the Orcas Island Community Church. He spent many years as a member of the Olga Water Users, Inc Board.
He is survived by his three nieces, Patricia Gooch of Dallas, TX; Ann Lewis (Bill) of Darien, GA; and Julie Brown (Michael) of Reno, NV. He is also survived by two grandnieces and a grandnephew, and by four great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Carl E. and Irene A. Driggers; by his brother Frank E. Driggers; and by his sister Mary G. Wheat. He is also predeceased by his sons Larry Driggers (13) and Wayne Driggers (17).
A memorial service was held on March 5, 2022 at Orcas Island Community Church in Eastsound on Orcas Island, WA. The funeral will take place on March 23, 2022 at the National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
