We are continuing the income survey of Eastsound households to determine the median income. Kevin Light of Madrona Voices has been to most of the households that were randomly selected for the survey. We have received about half of the surveys that we need to qualify for the grant and we encourage selected households to participate in the survey. The deadline for getting the survey collected and compiled is coming up soon.
This survey data is required for the County to apply for Community Development General Purpose Block Grants administered by Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This grant program can bring Federal and State tax dollars to Eastsound to help pay for planning or construction of public infrastructure, community facilities, affordable housing, and economic development projects.
