After taking the vessel out of service to investigate an issue on M/V HYAK, maintenance crews have found a failure in one of the vessel’s ship service generators, which must be replaced before returning the vessel to service. The 144-vehicle HYAK will remain out of service for up to 2 weeks while the maintenance is completed.
In order to maintain full service on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands/Sidney B.C. routes, the 124-vehicle M/V KITSAP will provide service until repairs on HYAK are completed. Due to the reduction in capacity, reservations on some sailings may be booked over the capacity for the smaller vessel. WSF will identify and work with reservation holders on these sailings. In order to accommodate those reservation holders, stand-by space may be very limited or unavailable on some sailings. Customers are advised to make reservations where possible, and travel on the sailing as reserved.
