Get ready, Orcas Island — the 8th Annual Hops on the Rock Beer Festival is back and bigger than ever! On Saturday, November 8, Market Street between Island Market and the Market Garden will transform into a lively beer garden featuring craft brews from
Washington State, local food vendors, live music, and plenty of island cheer.

Hops on the Rock has become one of Orcas’ most anticipated fall traditions — drawingvisitors and locals alike for a day of community, celebration, and (of course) great beer. But also cider, wine, and N/A options!

This year’s lineup includes more than 30 regional breweries, cideries, and wineries, plus delicious bites from Poutine Your Mouth, American Legion Post #93, and Woody’s Tavern. Local acts Baker & West, WildChild, and The Studs will keep the day rockin’. The
main tasting event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with Friday night tap takeovers at restaurants and bars all over the island to get the weekend started.

“Hops on the Rock is all about community — it’s a time to come together, support local businesses, and celebrate the season,” said Carey Eskridge, Executive Director of the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce. “Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just love the
energy of a hometown festival, this event captures the spirit of Orcas in a way islanders will certainly appreciate.”

You can see details about all the festivities and get tickets online at www.hopsontherock.com. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged, as the event typically sells out. Locals can get a discount card worth $10 off the price of admission at the Chamber office, Woody’s Tavern inside Island Market, the Lower, Island Life, and elsewhere.

Attendees must be 21 or older to enter the tasting area, but the day offers fun for everyone — with music, food, and good vibes filling the streets of Eastsound all afternoon.

Hops on the Rock wouldn’t be possible without Island Market, Ray’s Pharmacy, Lower Tavern, Island Hoppin’ Brewery, and the Orcas Chamber. Festival organizers would like to extend a special thanks to this year’s event sponsors: Vacasa, Rock Island, and Savi powered by Harborstone. And, of course, thanks are due to the many wonderful volunteers, vendors, and musicians who have helped to make the festival a true community effort.

So grab your friends, bundle up (maybe?), and come raise a glass to island life at Hops on the Rock 2025 — where every pour supports the island way!
