From the Orcas Museum
Monday, Oct. 31 at the Historical Museum from 3 to 6 p.m.
Trick-or-Treaters! Don’t missing learning all about Mrs. Rice and Higgy the Bear, a real life story from the annals of Olga history, in which Mrs. Rice (owner of the Olga Hotel) is given a Kodiak bear cub as a gift in 1910. The bear, Higgy, grew up of course, and then it all turned into a very harrowing story with some grizzly details . . . . perfect for Halloween.
“We’ve printed out the story on pages to give out to the kids along with (hopefully) a special old fashioned treat.”
Higgy, pictured at right, will be at the Orcas Island Hysterical Museum on Monday October 31st, from 3 to 6 p.m.The Museum is in downtown Eastsound on North Beach Road.
Special yummy treats: island-grown caramel/toffee apples on sticks, while they last!
