Preparations for the 2020 Census have recently begun in San Juan County. Census workers are out in different areas around the county confirming physical and mailing address information. This work requires visiting residential properties throughout the islands. You are likely to see them out and about during daylight hours for the next several weeks.

Census workers assigned canvassing work have the legal responsibility to visit all properties they are assigned and to confidentially protect all information that is gathered. Every Census canvasser is issued a US Department of Commerce identification badge and their vehicles should have US Census Bureau placards on display.

For more information, please visit the Census Bureau website.
