The Orcas Island Community Foundation and the Orcas Food Bank announce a matching grant from an anonymous donor who has offered up to $5000. This donor intends that this contribution be a matching grant and invites the community to collectively match this amount through donations of any size. The potential result could be additional $10,000 for the Orcas Island Food Bank, which is music to Joyce Shaw’s ears! As the newly elected vice president of the Food Bank, Joyce has been looking for ways expand their offering of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as to increase the distribution of dairy products and eggs. These funds would be used directly for that purpose.
This match opportunity is available through March 31st. If you are interested in donating to this matching grant, please send contributions to the Food Bank Matching Grant Fund c/o the Orcas Island Community Foundation, PO Box 1496, Eastsound, WA 98245. This is a great opportunity to increase the nutritional value of foods available to neighbors in need.
