The O’Brien team: from left Keenan, Kevin, Nancy and Colin. Son Daniel was elsewhere

from Kevin O’Brien

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to your generous support, over the last five years, The O’Brien family has raised over $25,000 in the effort to find a cure and support people with MS.  Next weekend I will be riding the in the two-day, 175 mile MS Bike ride again with my team the Swedish Smyelin Babes and over 2000 other riders through the Skagit Valley, around Fidalgo and Whidbey Islands, and up the Chuckanut Range towards Bellingham.

As you probably know, in the fall of 2006 my best friend and wife Nancy was diagnosed with MS.  Fortunately, with the advances in medicine, good living on her part, and good luck, she is doing great. Besides her daily shot of a medication called Copaxone, Nancy goes through an annual medical evaluation including an MRI and a visit with her physician. At her recent evaluation last month, we were elated to find out that there had been no progression in MS in the last year.

Private donations make the difference in the search for a cure and your support is huge! We have been impressed with the efficiency and stewardship of the National MS Society as they strive to dedicate funds in the search for a cure while providing patient support.
