Heather Kathryne

Doe Bay is already well-known for its massage program and weekly yoga offerings, but we are committed to creating a world-class wellness services program that offers both superior service and value, all in one of the most relaxing and beautiful places in the United States. We are very pleased to introduce the newest member of our management team, Heather Kathryne! We feel that she is a perfect fit for our organization and will help us grow and expand our wellness offerings. Welcome to the Doe Bay family, Heather!

Heather moved to Orcas when she was seven with her parents and sister, and they regularly visited Doe Bay for breakfasts, walks, and playing on the beach of Otter Cove. In her 25 years on the island, Doe Bay has held a special place in her heart.

Early in her career, Heather spent five years working in early childhood education and as a nursing assistant in long-term care facilities. Following her calling as a healer, she studied therapeutic massage and bodywork at Arcata School of Massage. Upon graduation, Heather returned to Orcas, where she has based her career as a Licensed Massage Practitioner for the past 10 years. In addition to practicing at various businesses on the island, she also co-created and ran Island Massage Studio in Eastsound. She is passionate about the power of healing through bodywork, and uses a combination of techniques to give her clients a treatment tailored to their specific needs.

Says Heather about her new position as Wellness Coordinator: “I’m excited to join the Doe Bay team cultivating the space, and sharing it with the community. Doe Bay is uniquely positioned to offer a comprehensive wellness experience in one of the most beautiful places in the world. There is a profound feeling of peace just walking on the land. It is a joy for me to see the transformation that’s happened at the resort in recent years, and I hope to bring more awareness to this hidden gem by providing a wide array of holistic health and relaxation options. When you need a place to recharge, unwind, and nourish yourself, Doe Bay should be your destination.”

Heather lives in town with her partner and two beautiful children.

Doe Bay is seeking certified massage therapists and yoga instructors for the summer season and beyond. Come join the funnest team in the Pacific Northwest! Please contact Heather at WellnessServices@doebay.com if you would like to apply.
