— from Steve McKenna for Wooden Boat Society —
John Campbell, long time Orcas resident, sailor and steamboat skipper, will share his wooden boat experiences and adventures at 7 p.m., Saturday March 24 at the Odd Fellows Hall.
John sailed his 1925 German-built ketch Ingegend lll from Boston, through the Caribbean and Panama Canal to San Diego.
Following his move to Orcas, John cruised the Northwest in Rainbow, a 26′ steam-powered ex-navy lifeboat, journeying from Orcas to beyond the north end of Vancouver Island.
Join the Wooden Boat Society of the San Juan Islands for a great evening of wooden boat adventuring.
The Wooden Boat Society is a local non-profit group furthering interests and skills surrounding wooden boats. Donations to help cover expenses are welcome.
