High Wind Warning
Description
- What, South wind 30 to 45 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH.
- Where, San Juan County, Western Whatcom County, Western
Skagit County and Admiralty Inlet Area. - When, from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST Friday.
- Impacts, damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts Of 58 MPH or more can lead to property damage.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
