— from Bryan Thomas, Communications Director for Rep. Rick Larsen —
Rep. Rick Larsen, WA-02, today praised the Navy’s decision to extend the public comment period for scoping of the EA-18G Environmental Impact Statement to January 31.
“This is good news for residents of Whidbey Island and neighboring counties,” Larsen said. “The Navy’s decision to extend the public comment period is a direct response to requests from community members and shows the Navy is participating in this process in good faith. While this extension may not be as long as some had hoped, it gives community members nearly three more weeks to submit comments. I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to share their suggestions and concerns.”

To whom it may concern,I live on Orcas island at the south west corner (pole pass)98243.The noise from the growlers being tested prior to flight has had my table shakinq and animals looking to me to see if we were having a earthquake. All day lately the steady roar of a jet engine is in the background this is not the sound of an engine in a plane that is being flown .Since the growlers have come to Whidbey I have been hearing a steady increase in noise and your not even up to full compliment .There has to be a better rural air field for these planes.
Thanks
