Everyone is invited to the Groundbreaking Celebration and Picnic — 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16 — of the Books and Beyond Expansion of the Orcas Island Library.
Enjoy free bratwurst and trimmings prepared by the Orcas Island Lions, cake and ice-cream donated by Island Market, popcorn popped by Librarian Holly King and her sons, Jimmy and Evan, fun and games and face painting for kids.
Grab a shovel for the dedication ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
