For those who are Irish, wish they were Irish, or are grateful they’re not Irish, Saturday, March 17th marks the 12th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Eastsound.
It promises to be the best parade yet, with floats, marchers, and St. Paddy himself attending the festivities. Margie Doyle will be Grand Marshal this year, joining list of past Grand Marshals that includes Tony Lee, Mike Lawless; Leigh O’Malley, Miles McCoy, Louise Carnachan, Pete McCorison,Frank Michaels, Jim McKeon, Molly Lyons, Jim Hamilton and Carol Whitbeck.
Like most Orcas parades, anyone is welcome to join in, as long as you bring your sense of fun and love o’ the green!
The march will assemble in the Island Market parking lot at 11:30 on the 17th, with the parade to begin at noon. It will end at the Lower Tavern where all are invited to join the songs and merriment. For more information, call Tony Lee at 376-2209.
