Chili Cook Off benefits The Giving Tree Christmas Program

The Chili Cookoff returns to Orcas Island next Saturday September 28.

This fall even, now in its second year, benefits the Christmas Giving Tree, a program that helps provide holiday gifts for island children who may not receive them otherwise. The Chili Cookoff is organized and sponsored by The Lions Club, The Orcas Island Farmers’ Market, Orcas Family Connections, The Kiwanis Club, and Island Market.

For $10, you can sample 10 varieties of chili and vote on your favorite chili concoction.

Along with the cookoff, there will be live music and a Beer Garden sponsored by Island Hoppin’ Brewery.

The Chili Cookoff runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Village Green in Eastsound. Admission is $10 per ticket. This entitles ticket holders to taste each chili and vote for their favorite three. Winners are chosen by popular vote.
