The 2021 GiveOrcas campaign opens Monday, May 3 and runs through May 17 (www.giveorcas.org). View the 24 proposals vetted and approved by the OICF Grants Committee. This year’s catalog supports a wide variety of programs serving the full span of the community. The campaign kicks off with a game on May 5 – Ben Franklin Day, followed by Hive’s sponsored “Neighbor Day” on May 7, 8, & 9. Lastly, Unique Donor Game day is May 12. “Check out this year’s GiveOrcas catalog. These organizations help make our community the vibrant, interesting, safe place we love,” says Susan Singleton, Chair, OICF Grants Committee.
“New this year is a game day designed to show your neighbors just how much you appreciate their kindnesses! Each gift too, no matter how small, is a kindness. It helps the hardworking caretakers of our families and the environment, nurture our precious people and places of Orcas.”
OICF allocates a portion of the earnings from its community endowment to the GiveOrcas campaign, however the total requested far exceeds the funds available. This is where you can shine as a Partner in Philanthropy! To participate as a Partner, simply make a donation of any size at GiveOrcas.org. (Donations can also be made by cash, check, or stock; mail your donation—made out to OICF—to PO Box 1496, Eastsound, WA 98245, or drop by the OICF office).
Last year 633 donors participated as Partners in Philanthropy to fully fund all requests! A donation of just $10 or more continues our island tradition of neighbors helping neighbors.
