Wendy Shinstine’s winning bid of $1,200 for two Seahawks playoff tickets means she will be off to the game on Saturday! Although she is a football fan, she says she has never been to an NFL game. (She was advised by a knowledgeable friend to take ear plugs.) She added that this was “an extremely generous” gesture from Kaleidoscope Board President Rick Markov to offer up his tickets as a benefit to Kaleidoscope.

Highest bid to benefit Kaleidoscope – The highest bidder as of 11:59 p.m. Monday night (January 6) will be the winner.

As everyone knows, last Sunday the Seattle Seahawks secured home field advantage for the 2014 playoffs. What you probably don’t know is that they also secured the opportunity for Kaleidoscope to raise money for the 12th man on Orcas.

Kaleidoscope Board President Rick Markov has agreed to offer up his NFC Divisional Playoff Tickets for Saturday January 11th to the highest bidder, with the proceeds to go to supporting Kaleidoscope. He considered selling them on EBay or another outlet, but with the help of Margie Doyle, Cara Russell and the crew at Orcas Issues, has decided to keep the tickets local so that someone local can cheer on the Hawks and help Kaleidoscope at the same time.

And what are you bidding on exactly? You are bidding on 2 seats, 300 level, section 309, row U seats #15 and #16. For those not familiar with Centurylink Field, these seats are ON the 50 yard line! One of the best views in the stadium — other than the one Russell Wilson has.

So, how does this work? Effective as soon as this posting, anyone interested in bidding on the tickets needs only to post their bid right here on Orcas Issues. The highest bidder as of 11:59 p.m. Monday night (January 6) will be the winner.

Not interested in waiting? Anyone willing to pay $2,000 for the pair, need only post a $2,000 bid and the tickets are yours!

Kaleidoscope is a 501(c)3, so any amount paid over the face value of the two tickets is fully tax deductible.

This is your chance to see history in the making, and make a little of your own history for the 12th man on Orcas.

Any questions, please post them here in the comments section so we can answer them for everyone!

Thanks!
