at Rose’s Bakery from 4 to 6 p.m. in Eastsound
Airlift Northwest invites the general public to events in Eastsound and Friday Harbor in July. Both events will provide opportunities for guests to learn about the transport service’s work as the only critical care transport agency with two critical nurses serving the San Juan Islands communities.
On July 11, the Airlift Northwest helicopter will be located on the Eastsound Village Green, a short walk from Rose’s. Check out the cockpit of an Airlift helicopter, watch rescue simulations by local fire departments, talk with Airlift crew, and more.
The nurses will be giving information about dealing with summer emergencies including strokes and falls. Community members of the AirCare program, which guarantees full insurance coverage for the costs of transport services, will also be in attendance.

Airlift Northwest provides medical transport to critically ill and injured adults and children throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Since 1982, it has provided care during more than 90,000 flights.
Airlift Northwest operates six bases in Washington and Alaska. Its fleet includes three Eurocopter helicopters equipped with night vision goggles and infrared technology, an Agusta helicopter, two Learjets and two Turbo Commander aircraft, stationed strategically in Arlington, Bellingham, Olympia, Seattle and Yakima, Wash., and Juneau, Alaska. This affords access to any airport in the continental United States and Canada.
