||| FROM TOM FISCUS for ACTORS THEATER OF ORCAS ISLAND
The Actor’s Theater of Orcas Island is proud to continue its holiday tradition of a radio version of a classic Christmas show. This year we are presenting our radio version of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. There are only three performances, so get your tickets early!
The cast of all local performers includes many of your favorite actors and a healthy helping of new talent that will be gracing Orcas Island stages for years to come. A particularly enjoyable feature of our radio play performances is the live generated sound effects that place you amidst the settings being depicted.
All the beloved characters from A Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim) and those not so beloved (Marley’s ghost, Scrooge, Christmas Future) are there to tell the story of Scrooge, who long ago abandoned love and instead chose a lonely existence to
pursue riches. On Christmas eve, he is visited by his dead business partner’s ghost – Marley. Marley admits his own wrong choices in life and warns Scrooge that he will be visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. They appear and show Scrooge the life he could have had, the one he now has, and the future he will have – unless he changes his ways.
Come join us at the Grange stage to laugh, cry, enjoy, applaud and maybe even boo (no offense to the ghosts) at our radio play version of A Christmas Carol. Bring the whole family for this classic of Christmas literature.
Performances are at 7:00 PM Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13. The show will close on Sunday, December 14 with a matinee performance at 1:00 PM.
Tickets are $15.00, available online through Brown Paper Tickets, at Darvill’s bookstore, and at the Grange door.
