||| FROM ORCAS ISLAND GARDEN CLUB |||

The Orcas Island Garden Club is sponsoring a citizen science project called Project Blossom.

Orcas has many microclimates that affect the bloom time of flowers. This project will help gardeners understand the differences
unique to their neighborhoods.

No previous knowledge or experience is necessary to participate in the project. We’ll provide the bulbs and instructions on how and where to plant your bulbs.

The daffodil variety we’ll be handing out: Dutch Master

OIGC members and the greater Orcas community can participate by planting daffodils in their own home gardens!

For an accurate study: Planting days for the daffodils must be either Saturday, October 19 or Sunday, October 20.

Provide your first name, address, and a contact email. When your daffodils begin to bloom, just let us know! For questions and reporting blooms: oigcprez@gmail.com. Participants will observe and report the date that their daffodils bloomed. The results will be displayed on a map on the Orcas Island Garden Club website to allow the whole Orcas gardening community to benefit from the information.
