The Orcas Island Garden Club will present its annual Holiday Tea on December 14, 2011. The event will be held in the Madrona Room of Orcas Center at 10:00 a.m. Cindy Morgan, owner and creative artist of The Nest, will be the guest speaker.
From her beautiful floral shop in Eastsound, Cindy will bring a large collection of artistic materials for holiday decorating. Cindy will show us how to turn what we already have into wonderful new creations. She will demonstrate the creative process with various idea-inspiring plants and beautiful decorative items. She will use baskets and other materials in both natural and glittery styles. Cindy will demonstrate how each can be put together into a number of totally different designs. She will emphasize doing things the easy way. Cindy will include both indoor and outdoor decorations. Cindy brings inspiration and grace to her designs.
This will be an elegant event. Tea and coffee will be served from silver service into antique tea cups. Cindy will make exquisite table centerpieces. There will be holiday tidbits at each table. A drawing will select the winning guest at each table who will take home a centerpiece. Cindy will also make some of her material or creations available for sale.
