The Board of Directors of the Funhouse Commons is excited to announce that it has appointed Krista Bouchey as Executive Director.

Since last August, Krista has served as the Interim Director before that serving the organization as the Program Director. Krista’s keen intellect and heartfelt care for the kids has enhanced this non-profit organization greatly.

The Funhouse serves as an important hub for community youth through the following essential programs: The thriving After-School Program (M-F 3:15-5:30), The Mentor Program, Teen Night (Now called Friday Night Hang-out), and Educational Programs (including Online Classes through the High School, SAT and College Prep., and Music Together® for children ages 0-5)

In Krista’s time at The Funhouse, attendance of the After-School Program has doubled, and Friday Night Hangout is thriving, well attended, and meaningful for Orcas teens!

Krista says, “Everyday I see an island child thrive in our unique and innovative environment.  The Funhouse is an amazing organization to be a part of. It has a rich history on the island, and it is great that we are now seeing the successful adults that have grown up with our organization.”

The Funhouse is gearing up for Summer Camp, The One World Music Festival, the FC5- 4th of July 5K race, and its annual fundraising Gala. To volunteer or donate, call 376-7177.
