The “Shakespeare under the Stars” series returns to Doe Bay Resort July 8 for a performance of Henry V beginning at 8 p.m.  Doe Bay is excited to host the Island Stage Left theater company, which gave an incredible performance last year at Doe Bay of As You Like It, much to the delight of Doe Bay guests, neighbors and Orcas locals alike.

The show runs on San Juan Island throughout the summer, but only has one performance on Orcas Island, July 8, so be sure not to miss it! From Playboy to King – Shakespeare’s thrilling portrayal of leadership unfolds in a gorgeous open-air setting on the Doe Bay property accessed from Homestead Road.  Admission is free (donations appreciated).

Be sure to dress warmly, bring a blanket for your lap, and bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on, as well as something to drink and snack on during the evening.

Stage Left is a non-profit theatre company founded by Daniel Mayes and Helen Machin-Smith to provide free professional quality theatre to the residents of the San Juan Islands and to its visitors. Each summer in July and August, Stage Left, in a stunning outdoor setting, presents another production in its continuing series “Shakespeare under the Stars”. In the fall, winter and spring the company produces a wide range of plays both old and new written by playwrights at the top of their profession. They continually strive to attain an artistic vision that illuminates and questions the human condition. Funding is entirely from voluntary contributions. Production design elements are kept deliberately simple and the concentration is on acting and interpretation. In this way the company is able to focus on the art rather than the administration, and on serving the island community of which it is a part.

Please join Doe Bay Resort in welcoming Island Stage Left to Orcas!  Be a part of the fun, enjoy an incredible show, and support island arts and artists. This is an evening not to be missed! www.islandstageleft.org
