The Friends of the Orcas Island Library again celebrated Hallowe’en Trick or Treat with a free book given away to children who came in their costumes to the library.
Children’s Librarian Nita Couchman said that some of the favorite Hallowe’en books this year were Brave Irene, the Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything. Among the books given out were the Newberry Children’s Book Award-winner You Read to Me — I’ll Read to You Scary Tales.
The library saw a steady stream of trick-or-treaters from 3 to 5 p.m. yesterday. Costumed children also had their pictures taken by the Library’s Bumble Bee.
