I hope people will come out in droves for this meeting, and firmly make your wishes known to the County Council members representing Orcas Island.
Given the solid waste issue, county budget issues, the CAO, Uplands Ordinance, GMA compliance, and other important issues, we are facing some very rapid changes across the board.
How will we balance property rights with protecting critical areas and the reasons we all want to live here? (Beauty and health of the land and environment.)
Of special interest to anyone living within the boundaries of the Eastsound UGA is the idea of incorporating the Eastsound Subarea Plan into the UDC. We need to know what this will mean exactly, besides that Council can review and change things more than once a year. What can they change, and how much public involvement will really be possible? Bring your questions about these and other issues to the town hall meeting.
See you there.
