||| FROM B.J. ARNOLD for ORCAS ISLAND ARTWORKS |||
The Orcas Island Artworks features new paintings in oil and acrylic by Stephanie Clair through the month of March. She will be showcasing some of her Italian towns as well as some of her newest San Juan series.
Stephanie has been painting since she was 16, creating her own style with cubist and contemporary influences.
She says her process “involves lots of layers. first I sketch out my vision lightly on the canvas, then I start with soft outlines, going over it with more and more layers until I achieve the right amount of depth, light and contrast.
“I would say I am most inspired from my experiences of travel, love, people and nature. I truly believes Art is the stored honey of the human soul, and if Love is the most powerful feeling in the world, then I hope my paintings will bring my collectors a little more love, a little more meaning, and more happiness in their lives.”
Having traveled extensively, Stephanie has chosen to slow down and dig deeper roots here on Orcas Island where she and her husband are fixing up an old farmhouse and opening a home studio. She loves having more time for her two biggest inspirations, Milo and Ayla.
The Artworks is open daily from 10 to 4. www.orcasartworks.com.
