Rosario New Year’s Eve Dance
Ring in 2012 at the Beachhouse on the Cascade Bay waterfront. Local island favorites Gene Nery and Martin Lund will lead their four-piece band through a wide variety of musical favorites to ring in 2012. Party includes late night snacks and New Year’s Champagne Toast. $25 per person (plus tax). The party starts at 9 p.m. and continues until 1 a.m. Please call 376-2222 for reservations.
Rosario New Year’s Eve Dinner
Enjoy a three-course New Year’s Eve Dinner in The Mansion Restaurant before the dance. Entrées include Blue Cheese and Horseradish Crusted Filet Mignon, Cedar Roasted Salmon, Duck Leg Confit and Pan Fried Pork Tenderloin with Braised Red Cabbage. Dustbunnies at the Olga Energetic Club The Dust Bunnies provide music for dancing on New Year’s Eve.

Doe Bay Café New Year’s Eve Weekend, Friday & Saturday Kaylee Cole will start the party on Friday, Dec. 30 in the Café at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 31 the Café will serve dinner from 5-9pm, and from 9 p.m.–12 a.m. there will be a delectable small plates menu and cocktail service. The party in the yoga studio begins just after 9pm with live music from Ravin’ Wolf and MC Dyslexic, drinks, friends, and a champagne toast at midnight! The dance party will keep going till 1am! There will be a $10 cover at the door, but locals can pre-purchase discounted tickets by calling or coming in to Doe Bay BEFORE New Year’s Eve for $5! New Year’s Day
Polar Bear Plunge at Cascade Lake, 11 a.m.
Plan on doing the Orcas Island Rowing Club’s 15th annual Polar Bear Plunge. Be there at Cascade Lake at 11:00 a.m. on January 1st. DO NOT BE LATE or you will miss the rousing event. This year’s theme is “Frozen In Time.” As always there is a commemorative tee shirt available. They make a great Christmas present. This year there is a pancake breakfast and hot drinks served immediately after the event.

Rosario Festival of Trees throughout December
Come enjoy a festive display of holiday trees in the Moran Mansion at Rosario and give to your favorite local non-profit. Purchase $1 tickets and vote for your favorite tree decorated by Friends of Moran, The Funhouse, Kaleidoscope, OPAL Community Land Trust, Orcas Island Choral Society, Orcas Island Education Foundation, and Orcas Island Fire & Rescue. All purchased voting tickets will be entered in a raffle to win round-trip tickets for two to Seattle on Kenmore Air with hotel, dinner for two in The Mansion Restaurant and a two-month spa pass.
