— from Susannah Weaver for Orcas Food Co-op —

Co-op election season is almost here. In March we will have our Annual Member Meeting and Board Election and we want you to participate. The Board of Directors has several open positions available for enthusiastic Owners who want to engage with their co-op community.

Voting for the Board Election will take place in the month leading up to the meeting and the deadline for submitting an application and candidate statement is January 25.

What does it look like to be on the board? Hanging out with awesome people having interesting discussions. Eating great snacks at meetings and retreats. Saving money with your board discount. Enjoying opportunities for professional development.  This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard in the future of our co-op.

To be eligible to run you must be a Co-op Owner in good standing (you don’t have to be paid in full, just current on your equity payments) and care about supporting our Co-op in the quest to make the world a better place.

Time commitment: 4-8 hours a month depending on committee work and time of year. No meetings in January or August.

Please reach out to Susannah Weaver, Marketing Specialist, for an application marketing@orcasfood.coop.
