For a historical good time with food and drink, Eclipse Charters invites all to join Tom Welch, local historian, as he continues the exploration into the Wilkes” Expedition of 1841 on Sept. 12. The cruise is an Eclipse Charters benefit for the Orcas Island Historical Museum.
Welch will speak this Saturday, August 21st at 7 p.m. at the Grange Hall as part of the Museum’s Journey Stories exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution.
Those on the September 12th boat cruise will learn more about early island names from “The Wilkes Expedition” and local history they circumnavigate Orcas Island from 1 to 6 p.m.
The cruise checks in at 12:30 p.m. at the Orcas landing, next to the Orcas Island Ferry Dock with Orcas Island. Ticket costs are $99 per individual and $ 165 per couple. Call 360 376-6566 to reserve.
