From Eclipse Charters
Lighthouse enthusiasts and nature lovers! Eclipse Charters is offering the “Five Lights By Sea” tour July 14 at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Orcas Express. Travel through the heart of killer whale country; most Lighthouse trips see them, as well as lots of other wildlife along the way.
This tour will embark on an adventure to see many of the 172 islands in the San Juan Islands, visiting the Five Light Stations that dot the shores of our islands.
Captain Daniel Wilk will give a historical narration of each Lighthouse during the trip. There will be two retired Coast Guardsmen on board to tell stories and learn about the past.One is “Patos Bill” LaVernge, once stationed at Patos Island Light Station.
For the trip, voyagers need to check in at the Orcas Island office on the dock at the Orcas ferry landing by 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. The tour departs promptly at 9 a.m.
